We are Vibration

According to indigenous peoples all over the world, disharmony of any kind (misfortune or calamity or physical, social, or psychological illness) is simply a symptom that the intrinsically perfect natural order is out of sync.
Since vibration is the essence of life, we try to restore that perfect order by reintroducing a bountiful, harmonious vibration. One of the ways to do this is with our voices and with the drum.
Traditional Native American song is thus much more than entertainment, intellectual stimulation, or social pursuit. It is used to change the life condition of the entire community. It helps to heal maladies of mind, body, and spirit.

In the Native community, the musician is thought of as a sound healer and an important teacher. The instrument makers, even the plants and animals involved, are blessed and they hold a special place in the community. Yet it is understood that any pure-hearted person has the ability to sing and make music and enjoy the healing and empowerment that these activities bring. It is actually the energy of the sound vibration that heals.

Orenda, by Valerie Naranjo.

"If you can sing, you can tell the truth".

"If you can talk, you can sing.
If you can walk, you can dance"
-African sayings.

If you feel depressed, a shaman would ask:
" When did you stop singing, when did you stop dancing, when did you stop being enchanted by stories, when did you start feeling uncomfortable with silence?"
